Costa Rica is no stranger to this reality, the country currently welcomes more than seven thousand people between refugees and asylum seekers. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) supports this population in its integration process with Costa Rican society, especially the most vulnerable.
